BEING A VOICE FOR CHANGE – 42 POSITIONS OF
INFLUENCE IN OUR SECTOR
In 2025 our incredible team held 42 positions of in昀氀uence and delivered 40 international conference
presentations (up from 40 and 33 in 2024 respectively, and 25 and 12 in 2023). Highlights include
Denver Anderson running a workshop on increasing engagement between guests and mission
at the BIAZA Conservation Education Conference, and Phillipa Dobbs delivering a workshop on
promoting optimal wellbeing for ageing animals in human care at the European Association of Zoo and
Wildlife Veterinarians Annual Conference. Matthew Ford delivered a presentation titled “UV light provision
in gibbons” at the EAZA Annual Conference, and Erinna Miles presented on “Supporting British Wildlife –
Twycross Zoo’s strategy for native species conservation” at the BIAZA Conservation Conference. Using the
voice of Twycross Zoo to encourage positive change, Dr Rebecca Biddle our Chief Conservation O昀케cer
participated in the IUCN 2025 World Conservation Congress, voting on more than one hundred motions
to in昀氀uence the future priorities and work streams of the IUCN community.
