Aligning with Global Frameworks
Working in alignment with global frameworks enables us to maximize the wider impact of our activities
as part of our Conservation Strategy. You will therefore see throughout this document how our goals
cover work streams that contribute to the goals and targets of both the UN Sustainable Development
Goals (SDGs), and the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF).
The SDGs are a globally recognised framework, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015,
that provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the
future. They include 17 goals aligned with conservation, education, and climate priorities. We support
these goals through the activities of this Conservation Strategy, particularly across SDG 13 – Climate
Action; SDG 14 – Life Below Water; SDG 15 – Life on Land; and SDG 4 – Quality Education.
